Storj

As Director of Creative and Brand at Storj, I lead a remote team of designers, developers, and creatives to shape the brand and the experiences around it.Across brand, messaging, content, marketing, web, and UI, we turn complex systems into clear, cohesive experiences that perform. We test early, validate with users, and use analytics to measure impact and guide what comes next.Every decision is intentional. Every output is built to move the business forward.

Strategy and positioning
The Storj architecture is fundamentally different, meaning it isn’t just another cloud provider, it’s a completely new approach to data infrastructure. But instead of leading with features or pain-driven messaging, I prioritized user outcomes. Getting data where it needs to be faster, operating with cost certainty, and scaling without friction. I used gain-framing as the cornerstone, leading the audience to ask the right questions instead of trying to answer them all up front.
Systems
As the surface area grows, consistency becomes just as important as creativity. I built a flexible system of components, layouts, and assets that scale across web, product marketing, and sales, including reusable page structures, a library of visual elements, and standardized patterns for all aspects of storytelling.
The goal isn’t to limit creativity, it’s to remove friction. Teams move faster without reinventing the wheel, while still producing work that feels cohesive and on brand. Over time, this creates a shared foundation that makes it easier to launch new pages, campaigns, and content without sacrificing quality.
Team
The work spans design, marketing, product, and external partners, so alignment matters just as much as execution. I lead a team of designers, animators, copywriters, and photographers and videographers as needed, shaping direction while staying close to the work from concept through launch.
I work closely with stakeholders to refine ideas and ensure what we build supports broader company goals. Whether collaborating with internal teams or production partners, the focus stays the same, keep the standard high, keep things moving, and make sure the end result feels intentional.
I led the evolution of the Storj brand into a clear, cohesive system built to scale across every touchpoint. From visual identity and voice to messaging frameworks and design systems, every element was crafted to bring consistency and intent to how Storj communicates. The work focused on simplifying complex ideas, strengthening recognition, and creating a foundation that could support product growth, marketing efforts, and a more unified user experience.

I led the design and development of the Storj web experience as a central hub for the brand and product. The focus was on clarity, performance, and conversion. Complex concepts were distilled into intuitive flows, supported by a flexible design system that could scale with the content. Through continuous testing and analytics, we refined the experience to improve engagement, reduce friction, and drive measurable growth.

I worked closely with my team to develop content across web, product, and marketing, partnering with stakeholders to help shape copy, design, and overall narrative. The work centered on making technical concepts feel approachable and intuitive, while aligning to broader messaging direction. The focus remained on how those ideas were expressed, bringing clarity, structure, and consistency to the experience.

Video was developed as a core part of the brand and marketing system, spanning motion design, animation, webinars, and live production. From planning and on-set capture to editing, post, and sound design, each piece was crafted to communicate clearly and feel cohesive with the broader brand. The result is a body of work that is polished, consistent, and built to perform across formats.
