About me

I started as a baby.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, I got off to a pretty weird start. As far back as I can remember, I was obsessed with company logos, special effects, audio recording, and making things. Learning how something worked and how to build it was always more interesting than simply consuming it. Not much has changed since then. Except now, I just can’t find that damned dog pillow anywhere.

Then I grew up.

Over the years, I've learned plenty of lessons the hard way, and I'd like to think I've got a few more left to learn that way. What worked well last time might not work this time, which is why I love exploring ideas as a team, testing hypotheses, and validating assumptions. In the end, creativity is really just communication. And if we aren't listening, we're just making noise.

Icebreaker fun facts

I've lived in 7 cities across 6 states.
In the last decade, I've been a bit of a nomad. From NYC to the Bay Area, and a few spots in between. I finally landed in SLC, and I love it.
I beat Tim Tebow in a foot race. Twice.
Our parents were friends. We were not. He challenged me to a race, so I ate a PowerBar and beat him. A few weeks later, I did it again.
I went to a Christmas party with Elton John.
Ok, I didn't go "with" him, but he was there. A woman invited me to her home for the party when I was 17. Elton played Christmas songs.
I have never seen those Star Wars movies.
People always ask "how have you never watched Star Wars?" My answer is always: "it's harder to watch a movie than it is to not watch it."
