Tardigrade

As a branding consultant for Tardigrade, I led the development of a cohesive identity designed to resonate with developers. The work focused on creating a brand that felt as thoughtful and well-engineered as the product itself, balancing technical credibility with approachability. This included shaping the visual system, voice, and introducing a mascot that brought personality and recognition to the platform without getting in the way. The result was a brand that developers connect with and trust.
The Tardigrade presented a design problem from the start. How do you turn something intricate and irregular into a clear, scalable logo? The solution was to focus on essence over detail. Strip it down to its most recognizable traits and rebuild it as a simple, confident mark. The final logo stays true to the tardigrade’s five body segments, creating a subtle link back to the original form while keeping the result approachable and memorable.

I developed the Tardigrade brand as a cohesive system designed to feel native to developers. Every element, from identity and typography to voice and visual language, was built to reflect the product’s resilience and simplicity while staying approachable. Subtle moments of personality were introduced through the mascot and supporting visuals, creating recognition without distraction. The result is a brand that feels intentional, memorable, and aligned with how developers build and think.

I produced the Tardigrade video ad for YouTube and digital distribution, crafting the ad to be clear, concise, and engaging within the first few seconds. The project began with storyboard and script development, then moved into 3D animation and full production, working closely with a team of animators, voice talent, and more. The final piece brought together voiceover, sound design, and polish into a cohesive, high-impact result.
